This week we learned about web 2.0, goodreads, diigo, wiki, and google reader. I learned that there are all sorts of fun and interesting things that you can do with these applications. With Web 2.0 you can do things like create web maps and connections to use with your students in the classroom. Also with creating a Wiki I found that this could be an incredibly helpful tool in the classroom in order to keep parents connected to what we're doing in the classroom. Diigo is a good connection to use with friends and families to keep them updated with what you're doing, and in the classroom it can help parents be connected with the sorts of things they can use with their children. Also, I have used goodreads for awhile. I find this site very useful because it helps me keep track of what books I have read and want to read, and also to get suggestions on good books to read. This website also helps me to remain connected to my favorite authors and what their latest projects are. I found that google reader was the most frusterating application to use!! I couldn't seem to figure out how to connect to a blog the way it was explained in the class video, and found a different way to be connected to it. I was really glad to have that over with! These are the screen captures of the cool things I learned this week.

My very own Diigo account.

And adding the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Books on Goodreads.

My wiki website is http://kami2kitty.pbworks.com/
This was definitely a learning experience for me this week!
Hi Kami,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of your wiki is that you included an mp3! What a creative idea! I don't think anyone else did that in the class (at least not the ones I've seen so far). Great job with this blog too! I am glad you liked learning about Diigo. I know some applications are more difficult than others. Let me know if you have any questions with Google Reader. It is a great tool and I want to make sure you understood how to use it. I really enjoyed your wiki :)
