This week we were asked to take an inventory of the technology available in the schools that we are assigned to for the practicum. I am assigned to Columbia Elementary School in West Jordan, and they have a lot available. There are five mobile computer labs with at least 20 computers available in each for check out by the teachers. These are Macintosh computers, and have a plethora of software available. There is also a technology teacher onsite for 17 hours a week for the students to work directly with, learning how to use software. Students have the opportunity to use cameras and camcorders, teachers have doc-u-cams, projectors, and extra time slots in the computer lab available if they would like to use them. This is a technologically plugged-in school!
I completed the midcourse evaluation and the informed consent for this weeks assignment.
